Pretty in Pink: A Very Happy Blogpost

These past nine months in Chicago have been crazy!! My first time living on my own, in a new city, with new faces and new experiences... I have been anything BUT bored, that's for sure! I can't lie, I feel like you can read it all over my face. I am the happiest I have ever been and I truly feel blessed to be in the position I am in!

Soooo, I did gain a few pounds (more like 15). But instead of stress about it, I've decided to embrace this new version of myself. I kind of like being able to fill my clothes a little more and this is just who I am right now. Twenty-five, living my dreams!

OK, outfit breakdown real quick!
Glasses: Dior Tortoise Shell Cat-Eye  Cropped Pink Sweater: Topshop Watch: Michael Kors Jeans: Levi's Leather Grey Convertible Clutch/Messenger Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Flats: Target

This outfit was so effortless and I feel like it really reflects the mood I'm in lately. I don't usually wear too much pink, but I guess I was just in a pink kind of mood today!

BIG BIG BIG things coming in October so make sure you are tuned in. I'm so excited to share some really great experiences with you guys and some fun outfits to go along with them! Thanks for all the love and support, I couldn't ask for a better following!

Midwest Dressed

If you're from the Midwest, you know what it feels like when the summer comes to an end and the leaves start to dwindle off the trees. Our wardrobes slowly go from sun dresses and flip flops to sweaters and boots. It's my favorite time of the year, fall.

I love the food, the air is so crisp and clean... But most of all, I LOVE the fashion. You can pair a t-shirt with a scarf and guess what? It's OK! This look was so fun to shoot. The weather in Chicago was perfect today and mother nature just amplified everything with the perfect mix of greens and reds.

Let's get to the outfit breakdown. We all know I have a sunglasses addiction so my new favorite pair are these black on black Ray-Ban Aviators. My scarf is the highlight of my outfit. I purchased it at local Wicker Park boutique, KiZ Chicago. I saw it on the mannequin in the window as I was walking by. Ya, instantly purchased. I'm not usually a fan of hounds tooth but it was just too cute and full of fall not to buy.

My leather cross-body is from Marshalls. Super cheap and super cute is my motto. Jeans are a recent purchase from Target of all places. Who doesn't love Target by the way?
My white tee is from Urban Outfitters and my boots are Steve Madden.

Apart from my obsession with sunglasses, I also purchase way too many phone cases. This boho-chic baby is from Free People!

There you have it folks. A simple and easy outfit I put together in about three minutes! This weekend will bring some more fall favorites! I might do a collection of my favorite combat boots??!!
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Color For Daze

So, I know I said tomorrow like a million days ago... But here it finally is!! I had so much fun shooting this look for the blog! The last time I was visiting MI, I stopped into Complex in Birmingham after brunch with some friends.

They were having an awesome sale and my friend pulled this dress for me while I was in the fitting room. As soon as I tried it on, I was in love. The colors are so vibrant and the style of the dress fits great.

To be honest, every time I walk into Complex in Bham, I never leave disappointed. Such an awesome boutique with a ton of different options!

Anywho, the strappy sandals are simply Steve Madden and the clutch I stole from Irene Mahmud! She's my blogger goddess of a friend who always provides supply when in demand! The clutch is from Belucci Couture!

Stay tuned... Fall is right around the corner and it's my favorite fashion season! Scarves, boots and endless cute outfits to come!!

Carry the News

Yay for ripped jeans and Converse! This look is so totally me in every aspect. Don't get me wrong, I love a little glam... But being comfy and cute is what I'm all about.

I've always been a huge fan of Chuck Taylor's a.k.a. Converse. Something about the solid white is so perfect for the summer, especially living in a large city and having to walk A LOT! They're super inexpensive and you can practically purchase them at any shoe store. These, I purchased at Akira just because there is one around the corner from me in Wicker Park.

I guess we can go from the bottom up! My distressed boyfriend jeans are from Zara, duh! The rip in the knee got a little out of hand after throwing them in the washing machine, but since they're meant to be a little grungy, you can't even tell. I probably wear these jeans like three times a week. Sooooo comfy and super edgy, which I love.

My clutch is probably my favorite part of this outfit! It was a gift from my friend Mary back home in Michigan. Since I majored in journalism and I love fashion, she got it for me as a graduation present!! A newspaper clutch, how perfect?!? It totally spiced up my entire outfit and on top of that it's a gift from someone I love. Shout out to Mary for being the best gift giver xo

I recently purchased my grey cropped sweater on sale at H&M for a womping TEN DOLLAS!!!! Cute for chilly days in Chi and wearable even in the winter time. Bam!
On my arm, I'm rockin my rose gold MK watch. Even though his watches are a little overplayed, I still love them and I definitely rock a watch as a signature piece ALL the time. Michael Kors is definitely reasonably priced, which is always a big plus.

Last but not least are my fav pair of Ray Ban aviators. The mirrored blue just sticks out like a sore thumb and I'm obviously not complaining about that! I wear them all the time, especially because I am sickly obsessed with buying designer shades.

I love this look. I feel like it truly described the essence of my style, from head to toe! Stay tuned for more looks this week!

P.S. I changed the font up a little! I might be revamping the site soon... Change is good.

When in Doubt, Wear Red

Red red red red red!!! I can't EVER get enough of it... It's such a perfect pop of color and so very fierce. I love it!

I just couldn't help but to overload on it for this blog post. First and foremost, that lips bag is probably the best thing I own. I bought it at a nearby Buffalo Exchange in Wicker Park for ultra cheap. I saw it in the window and was like, "Uhhhhhhh MINE!" This girl never passes up an opportunity to rock red lips so when I saw it as a clutch, it spoke to me.

For those of you who are unaware, Buffalo Exchange is a second hand store. There has never been a time when I leave there empty handed. The last time I was there, I snagged a McQueen scarf for sixty bucks! Tags still on it and errrrthaannnggg... Needless to say, I've loved Buffalo Exchange ever since I was a cast member on Real World shopping at the one in New Orleans!

My super skinny jeans were snagged this past weekend at Zara along with the asymmetrical black blouse I'm wearing. I really love a jean and classic black shirt look. I feel like it can't go wrong and can always be a go-to when in doubt. I loved the lowness of the shirt and I'm pretty sure I have a new obsession with showing a ton of skin up top. I think it might be because my hair is longer so I don't mind having it draped all over me lol!

Pumps are Christian Louboutin Lady Peeps. I'm selling them because they are forever eating my feet ;( But I had to snag one last photo before I send them off. I'll probably just be cashing them in for a less painful pair to be honest. They were too perfect for this look, I just couldn't resist!

I know, I should do some more close ups for y'all, I promise in the next look I will. I was just so excited about this outfit that I couldn't wait to post it! Next week I'll be doing a more casual look, can't wait to share!!

Orange is the New Black

It's been so long since I've posted on my blog!!! After moving to Chicago, I was so busy trying to find work and find an apartment (not to mention all the furniture shopping), that I could barely spare any time.

I feel GREAT though! My six month 'Move to ChiTown' anniversary is right around the corner and I couldn't feel more at home. It feels so good to be independent and living in a new city! I could go on for days about my new life here but lets just simply say, it's amazing.

Soooo, one great thing about living in a big city is the plethora of unique shopping at your fingertips. Not only do we have Zara and Topshop (places that people in the burbs drool over whenever they can get an hour inside), but we have the the best of certain collections, floors of great deals and AMAZING second-hand/vintage shops all over the city. Needless to say, I'm really excited to up the ante on my blog with some one-of-a-kind pieces!

To start the week off, I decided to do a 'look for less.' Nothing I am wearing is at all designer and most things were purchased on sale or even from last season. Living in the city is expensive and I wanted to prove that even though you sometimes feel like you have nothing in your closet, there is almost always a way to pull something fabulous together.

I was feeling a little risky and decided that I'm totally obsessed with this new fad of wearing nothing under your blazer. Obvi, fashion tape or buttoning might be necessary but it's super sexy and yet I still think extremely classy.

My blazer was so cheap! $20 bucks at H&M, I could hardly believe my eyes when I was in there! I saw it on the way out of the fitting room and immediately knew I had to have it. The color is awesome for the summer and Chicago has been called the Windy City for quite some time so when the nights get chilly, I'll be prepared.

My orange high-waisted pants are from Pitaya. There's one in my neighborhood, just a few streets from my apartment. I'm not a huge fan of all things Pitaya, but I feel like I can count on them for a super cute item from time to time. They are also super cheap which is amazing for me since I have to pay rent now -____-

My beaded clutch and peep-toes are both from ALDO. Also, purchased on sale sometime in the winter when I felt like I was missing the sun. Ya, they might have collected dust for a little while, but when the summer came... I was PREPARED! I really wasn't in a jewelry type of mood for this look.. I kept it simple and sleek. Sometimes, that's all I need.

The title of my post is dedicated to my new obsession with Orange in the New Black. Thanks to my roommate, it's really hard for me to leave the house mid-any episode and anyone who is in the same boat understands. A little Piper Chapman never hurt nobody... Well, except for that one girl in season one ;) Hahaha, yes... I am a HUGE dork.

In any case, weekly posts start now so sit back, relax and enjoy the fashion! Oh, and the never ending cheesiness... <3

Casual Camo

Army Green Camo Jacket: Forever 21 | White Tank: Zara | Belt: H&M | Rose Gold Mid-Size Watch: Michael Kors | Skull Bracelet: Underground at Complex | Pink and Gold Spike Bracelet: J. Crew

We're all officially snowed in here in Detroit so I thought instead of getting cabin fever, I could update my blog! After getting through three seasons of Entourage and helping clear the snow outside, there was nothing better I could think of doing with my time.

OK, so everyone knows that camo has been a big hit this past year. Even though my jacket doesn't actually have the camo print, I still would label it as 'army green' therefore having something to do with camo and army-like colors/styles. As much as I sometimes get bored with trends that kind of outdo themselves, I just can't shake my camo blues. That was a joke, because it's green. I know. It was lame :)

Anyway, I love this jacket that I snagged for super cheap at Forever. As soon as I lose my desire to pick an outfit, I just throw this baby on with a pair of jeans or black leggings and combat boots and I'm ready for a casual day or night out with my friends.

For some reason, every time I put it on I only wear MAC Ruby Woo lipstick. It's like I'm drawn to it by the lipstick forces of life (another bad joke, but you guys love me). In all honesty, the brightness of the red just looks great with the green hue of the jacket, and anyone who has ever worn Ruby Woo knows it's matte finish could last through an apocaLIPS. Guess I'm just full of overly cheesy jokes today... It could be the lack of human interaction.

As for jewelry, I tend to keep things simple but I decided to stack a couple cute bracelets with my watch just to add some flavor to my outfit.

Don't forget, I always include links under my photos to where I got my products or at least where you can find similar ones! I think I'm going to start posting some close-ups of jewelry and shoes or maybe just include more photos. Hey, it's my first time blogging. I'm bound to change it up once I get the hang of this.

New post coming soon! After this blizzard dies down, I might venture out into the snow for a 'How to stay warm and fashionable simultaneously without freezing your ass off' outfit. Stay tuned y'all!
